How to install VMware on your system and how to set it for a new operating system


This article is all about how to install VMware on your computer and how to create a new virtual machine in it to run a new operating system image on your computer through using VMware workstation. In the previous post, we learn about virtual box installation and how to use the virtual box on your computer. We also learn that what is virtualization and how to use virtualization on your system. VMware is a software which provides a virtual platform for your system to run a new operating system image on your computer it works same as the virtual box. If your system does not support virtual box then you can use VMware on your computer to run a new operating system on your computer. So let’s start here

Now follow these given below steps to install Vmware on your computer.

Step 1: – First of all download VMware workstation software from the official website of VMware otherwise clicks on the above-given link to download VMware for your computer.

Step 2: – After that click on that software setup file from your computer to install VMware workstation on your computer.

Step 3: – Now a new window will be opened on your screen in this window simply click on next option to proceed.

Step 4: – After that, this will ask you for accept license agreement screen in it tick on I accept the terms in the license agreement option and then click on next option as shown in the figure.

Step 5: – After that, it will ask you for setup type in which select custom setup type and then click on next option to proceed as the figure is shown below.

Step 6: – After that, it will ask you for VMware workstation features in it 2 features will be selected by default so now simply click on next option to proceed as the figure is shown below.

Step 7: – After that, it will ask you for server component configuration and it will show you the HTTPS port number which is 443 now simply click on next option to proceed. As the figure is shown below

Step 8: – After that, it will ask you for software updates if you want to check software update every time then check that box otherwise uncheck that box and then click on next option to proceed. As the figure is shown below

Step 9: – After that, it will ask you for a new permission simply click on next option to proceed.

Step 10: – After that, it will ask you for shortcuts creation on your system simply check both the boxes and then click on next option to proceed. As the figure is shown below

Step 11: – After that, it will show you ready to perform the requested operations on this window now simply click on the continue option to proceed. As the figure is shown below

Step 12: – After that, it will show you setup wizard complete screen and now click on finish option to complete the installation. As the figure is shown below.

Now set a new virtual machine in VMware workstation by using given below steps

Step 13: – After the installation is completed now click on VMware workstation shortcut icon from your system to open the VMware software on your screen.

Step 15: – After that, a new window will be opened on your screen in it simply click on create a new virtual machine option to create a new virtual machine to run a new operating system image on your computer. As the figure is shown below

Step 16: – After that, a new window will be opened on your screen with a welcome message in it simply click on next option to create a new virtual machine on your system. As the figure is shown below

Step 17: – After that, it will ask you for guest operating system installation in it choose I will install the operating system later and then click on next option to proceed. As the figure is shown below

Step 18: – After that, it will ask you for a guest operating system it gives you many options like Window, Linux etc. simply choose any of operating system from it and then also choose the version of operating system then click on next option to proceed. As the figure is shown below

Step 19: – After that, it will ask you for a name the virtual machine now give any name to this virtual machine as you desired then simply click on next option to proceed. As the figure is shown below

Step 20:  After that, it will ask you for specifying disk capacity for run a new virtual machine in it and also do experiments on it then choose split virtual disk into multiple files option and then simply click on next option to proceed. As the figure is shown below

Step 21: – After that, in the last step, it will show you a message on the screen which asks you for ready to create the virtual machine and it will show you all the configurations which are done in the previous steps in VMware workstation on your system. Now click on finish option to proceed. As the figure is shown below

                                     THAT’S IT
